Cardiovascular Disease is the leading cause of death in the United States for both men and women.

First, we evaluate our patients for two of the leading risk factors for heart disease:

Atrial Fibrillation An abnormal electrical conduction in the heart which causes insufficient pumping of the blood through the heart and body. Nearly 5 million Americans are affected, a large portion of them with NO SYMPTOMS.
Hypertension High blood pressure from the force of your blood pumping through your arteries. Hypertension is commonly known as the 'Silent Killer' since there typically are NO SYMPTOMS.

Our cardiac screening looks for and identifies abnormalities in both of these risk categories.

Then, via ultrasound, we assess our patients' hearts for abnormalities.

Cardiac Ultrasound

Many forms of Congenital Heart Disease, which affects 8 of every 1,000 children, many of whom are undiagnosed until late adolescence or later in adulthood, are detectable by screening. Other abnormalities such as Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (which is responsible for 1/3 of the sudden deaths in athletes), diseases causing decreased pumping efficiency of the heart, abnormal heart chamber sizes, and heart valve problems are also detectable. Many of these problems also have NO SYMPTOMS.

Our cardiac ultrasound screening identifies many different abnormalities in this vital organ.
