Abdominal
Aortic Aneurysms (AAA) are
dilated (ballooning) regions of the aorta. Approximately
18,000 people die each year from an abdominal aneurysm
rupture. Most people with AAAs do not have any symptoms and
their AAA goes undetected until it becomes an emergency. In our
testing, we look at the aorta and measure the diameter in
various areas to make sure it is not enlarged.
IMT measures the thickness of your
carotid artery walls. Arterial wall lining thickness
indicates how your vascular system has responded to the risk
factors to which it has been exposed. We calculate your
"Vascular Age" to estimate the age of your blood vessels
compared to your chronological age. If your final score
indicates high risk for cardiovascular disease, you and your
physician can proactively lower that risk.
To monitor your heart's electrical
rhythm and rule out atrial fibrillation,
an uncontrolled and ineffective beating pattern which can lead
to blood clot formation in the heart. The danger of these
clots is that they can be pumped from your heart to your head
which can cause a stroke.
To rule out hypertension (high blood
pressure).

to your brain. A sample image is on the left. We look for significant blockages in your
arteries on these images.
